My son is turning 8 and wants a High School Musical cake. Anything I have seen looks a little feminine. Any ideas on how to make it more appropriate for a boy?

Make it more about the basketball side of HSM, not the actual musical part. If I remember correctly, and thank God I have boys who are too small to torture me with that movie so I may not be right, but aren't the school's colors red and white? Do the cake in red, or white, and use the other color for accents/writing. Make a sheet cake and use the sports ball pan to make a basketball to sit on top. Make a big fondant star that says "High School Musical" and prop it up in front of the basketball. Then make little fondant stars to stick on the sides. You could write "It's hard to believe that you're turning 8!" That's the only song I like, so that's the only one I can help you with. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
