A friend of mine wants cupcakes for her daughter's birthday. I thought yeah - that's easy! Then she asked me if I would make gumpaste butterflies that hang on wires. Here are my initial ideas, and then I need help from there.
1. Display cupcakes in cupcake trees.
2. Make gumpaste butterflies and attach to wires that are tied to the cupcake tree.

Does anyone know if that will work. I have never worked with wire before. Any ideas on where to get it and what type. I think she wants them to look like they are flying. Any ideas on how to attach the wire to the butterfly??? Thanks for your help.

How old is her daughter - wires and little kids - an accident waiting to happen? And how married is she to the idea that the butterflies have to be on wires? I'm thinking if you give her an option she may just like to pretty little things right on a cupcake. Such as I did for my own birthday a couple of years ago.
