I just call a bakery supplier and want to get 50 pound of cake mix but the instructions says to only add water. This is for a fundraise at my daughter school and I will cover all the cost . I plan to bake 5" cakes and at the same time I want to create some business so they have to taste good.

Does anyone ever use this type of mix what do you do to doctor it? I know that I can substitude water for milk or buttermilk or a combo of all of them. Is this will be enough to make a good impression?

Cake mixes at retail are around $2.00 and that will be too expensive.

Thanks Lizzie

There was a thread about this a couple days ago: http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-583073.html

General consensus was that it's pretty nasty.
