I have a baby shower cake to make for April 19. The theme is Allstar Teddy Bears. This will be my first attempt at making my own bear for a cake so I'm nervous. I want to go ahead and make it and all the sports balls in case I run into trouble. With the shower being 2 weeks away I'm affraid that it won't store well. Whats the best way to store to keep it fresh. Also any tips on making the bear and storage of it till the shower will be greatly appreciated icon_biggrin.gif

Fondant will keep for at least 3 months on the shelf. You may read that it shouldn't be frozen but I always freeze mine and it thaws just fine, works just fine, and tastes just fine - as if freshly made.

You'll be fine with it for 2 weeks. If it is on a cake, you can refirgerate or freeze the entirely decorated cake, as well. Wrap well in plastic wrap and perhaps place it in a cardboard box. Just give it a few hours to thaw for the condensation to dry (unwrapped).
