I just made a cake, and someone is going to pick it up tomorrow morning. It is a carrot cake with buttercream icing. I am keeping it in my garage (it is very cool in there). My question is, do you normally cover your cakes? I have it in a cake box, should I put the lid on or leave it. The last time I made a cake and stored it in a cake box, the colors ran together (I assumed it was condensation)

Just looking for thoughts and advice!

Thanks!

In the garage i would certainly cover it.

I either place the cake in the fridge (one fridge just cakes) or leave on the counter in the box.
