I have a cake due on Thursday that I am trying to make. I am wanting to add the number 18 on top of the cake. My trouble is though I am not sure how to do this. What would i make the number out of and when I go to attach it on the cake what would I use to stand it up?

Any help appreciated. I am so confused and wanting to do so much for my brothers birthday.

Cut the numbers out of gumpaste. Once dry, attach a popsicle stick to the back with royal icing or candy melts. It's helpful to insert a straw into your cake to help support the popsicle stick so that the weight of the numbers won't rip the cake.

I had to do that in a hurry once and cut the numbers out of fun foam. Last time I went to the local cake supply store, I bought the choc molds that are numbers with spikes on the bottom so that you stick the molded choc piece into the top of the cake. That worked really well.
