Hi everyone, I am in desperate need of some ideas.
I am doing a wedding cake and the bride wants an ivory cake with gumpast flowers the flowers will be light cream in colour. The flowers she would like to be used are fiant star gazer lilies and fiant roses. The cakse is a four tier cake, each tier comprising of two cakes all stacked onto one another. She would like angels or cherubs on the cake as well and I just can't picture what it would look like or how to place them on the cake, I am thinking of making them from gum paste using a mold. I would appreciate if any one has an ideas that they would like to share.
Thanking you
Possibly put the cherubs or angels discretely arranged among the flowers or on either side of the flowers of each layer? Draw out your design first to see how it would look.
Just a thought, good luck and please post a picture when you have finished the cake, sounds pretty actually!

How about using the cherubs on top of the cake...I would put 2 angels as the cake topper and then arrange the flowers on the various levels of the cake.
I found this Lenox cake topper on Ebay....maybe she'll be interested in something like this?

Thanks guys some of the ideas are fantastic. I didn't even think of using the cherubs as a topper or in amongst the flowers. I will play around with it and see what it looks like. I will post of picture of the finished cake
I went to a friend wedding last year and she had a beautiful cake, it was all snow white and on the sides of each tier there were angels that were made out of sugar. They were not detailed at all they look like they came from a chocolate mold, but they were so pretty/edible.
This cake was a 3 or 4 tiers I can remember but that was the prettist cake I have ever seen.
The2004 wilton year book hasa 3 tier christening
cake that has floating angels on the sides,it is adorable. They are made from fondant and use lollipop sticks to attach to the cake.
Thanks Cakesbyrobin, now that you mentioned it I recall seeing such a cake, I will take a closer look at it tonight
