Should I use alot of the concentrated gel? Or is there another way to get the icing dark first so I dont have to use alot of the gel?
It took alot of my brown gel to make the icing brown enough for me, and now I need to buy more:p

How do You make your icing black?

When I want black icing I either buy a tub of it at a cake store or I start with chocolate icing--a dark brown color already and then I add black to that.
Good luck.

I start with chocolate BC and then add black..yes you have to use quite a bit but...if you can let it sit for a while before you get it as black as you want, it tends to darken quite a lot in the bowl as well as when it hits the air.

Good luck!
