I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for all the great advice and tips everyone posts!
This weekend was a weekend of first for me. I did a topsy turvy cake and thanks to the how-to article here it was a HUGE hit!!
Second, I did that cake w/fondant - my first non-family fondant cake, and I'd have to say that it came out great - and I only had the cheap, flimsy Wilton mat. Well, when I went to my class with Rebecca Sutterby two weeks ago, I fell in love with the Ateco mat. I really wanted to buy it, but didn't have the $$, so I went to Wal-mart instead and bought a yard of vinyl and it worked WONDERFULLY!!! Definitely the best $4 I've spend in a long time.
So, I just wanted to say thanks! I'm at work now, so I can't post the pics, but as soon as I get home I'll send them your way!
