How many people will a 12x12 3 layer cake feed for a Groom's cake? Thanks in advance! I can't seem to get a straight answer.

Assuming it's a square cake, just do the math.

If you are cutting the pieces 2x2 (which on a 3 layer cake will be a really big piece!) then you will cut 6 rows x 6 columns to get 36 pieces.

If you cut them 2x3 (which will be a HUGE piece!) you wil cut 6 rows by 4 columsn to get 24 pieces.

If you cut them 1x2 (which would be a pretty normal size), then you would cut 12 rows x 6 columns to get 72 pieces.

Just do the math.

Thanks! I've always been "over" thinking it. That makes perfect sense. I would assume that at a wedding it would be smaller pieces.

Standard wedding cake slice is 1x2x(height).
