Does anyone know how to make clear edible glass. I need to make a glass with Rum and Coke in it and I want to be able to see the rum and coke. Any suggestions?

from memory, i can find a toffee recipe if you need one but i think its just sugar and water simmered over a low heat let the toffee cool so its really thick then get creative i have never done it, i dont know if it would work

Funny you should ask, since Im making this right now! Im experimenting with this recipe and a silicone mold. Im trying to create edible jewels for my daughters cake.

HARD TAC CANDY

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. clear Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. oil of cinnamon flavoring or other flavoring

Food color to what ever flavor you are making. Cook first 3 ingredients without stirring to hard crack stage on candy thermometer. Remove from heat, add flavoring and coloring. Pour in buttered cookie sheet, cool. When cold, turn pan upside down and hit bottom a little. Break into pieces.

Just an added note to Weirkd's recipe----

When you pour make sure you don't get to close with the cinnamon. I did and the steam nearly knocked me on my butt!!!! lol. But I do love the recipe. That is what I made my Emeral Castle out of.

I used cherry extract instead of cinnamon. My kids are getting their sugar rush on them at the moment!!
