I was browsing this site ( http://fantes.com/cake_cutters.htm ) today and came across this leveler ( http://fantes.com/images/6002cake_cutters.jpg ). I was wondering if anyone has one like this. If so, does it work good? I know everyone is going to recomend agbay, but caking is just a hobby for me and I can't afford one like that, and I thought this one looked nice. TIA for any help.

I have one! I bought it at Michaels fairly inexpensive. I use it for the larger size cakes and it works great!

I have the large cake leveler also purchased from Michael's I swear by it, although you might get quite a few people telling you it's a waste of money. The key to using this one is to work very slowly as the blade has a tendency to want to bend / give when you work too quickly. I use it on all my sheet cakes and to be honest, I don't know what I'd do without it. It's a worthwhile buy IMHO. Happy Baking icon_biggrin.gif

If it's Wilton, it's okay for leveling, but doesn't work well for torting large layers. The blade bends halfway thru, resulting in uneven layers.

Seems to work okay for me. Hobby Lobby carries it also. Don't forget the coupon.

I have the Agbay leveller - It was expensive, but it is some of the best money I have spent on cake tools - It is worth every penny.
