I am new to using dowels and was wondering, where do you buy your dowels at? Is there a diference in the brands or anything?

I use the ones from Wilton, alwayus have. Then I heard this story and I won't use any other kind. This is from a BIG name cake decorator She purchased some dowels from the craft aisle; when they soaked up moisture from the cake and icing they got weak and the cake fell. So she said she would never use any except the Wilton brand. This is from a BIG name cake decorator.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering with anyone had a problem with the dowels causing your cakes to change in taste?
