Okay, I know this is going to be a stupid question to some of you, but here it goes.

Is luster dust and pearl dust the same thing? I know they also have the shimmer dust, which I assume you sprinkle that on.

I have spent all Saturday morning looking for luster dust and all I can find is Pearl dust and Shimmer dust. I can't find them in brown and purple.

I have found gold, bronze and orchid pink in the Pearl dust. Will that work with coloring the shells that I have already made?

Also, what is the best way to color the dolphin? Food color mixed into the white chocolate or painted?

Thank you very much for any help you can give. usaribbon.gif

This thread by Shirley discusses the difference in petal and luster dusts: http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-54059.html

Petal dust is matte and luster has shine. When I can't find the luster dust in the shade I need, I've mixed some petal dust with super pearl dust to get the same effect. Or you can color the gumpaste/fondant with the shade you need and use super pearl luster dust for the shine.
