Does anyone know what tips were used on this cake? The clouds, how did they get them so puffy? What tip? And the top edge? What tip? I pm'd her but she isn't responding and I would like to make a similar cake. thanks.

possibly a large writing tip like a size 8 maybe. dip your finger in cornstarch and tap down the peak that you get when you create a blob/bead of icing.

the rest i'm not sure what sizes of writing tips were used and the top border looks like the grass tip used but with only a bit of icing rather then the drawn out "blades of grass" thats its familiar use.

not much help i know but hope it was some.

Thanks GenGen. The clouds look so cool. I will have to try the tips and see if I can get the same effect. thanks.

When I do clouds on cakes I use my bag with no tip at all. Use different pressure to get different sizes. Then I just tap my finger in corn starch and tap down the little peeks. Hope this helps!

If I had to guess I'd say she used a #12 tip on the clouds, ditto on the corn starch, and it looks like she used a #233 grass tip for the border

I saw a cake in the gallery that used mini MM as clouds and smoke.

Ditto on what spongemom thinks - #12 round for the clouds, and the #233 grass tip for the border. Instead of pulling up for grass, she just used it like a star tip and made 'flowers' - looks cool.

Good luck! icon_smile.gif

Sorry, but I would like to know how she made the train or is it a toy?

The clouds look like a 10, and the border looks like it may be a drop type flower tip.
