How Do I Get A True Gray Color??

I've mixed red and blue and still can't get a gray color, pleez help I need this cake done ASAP.. Thanks

A tiny bit of black is all it takes....

I agree with the others, just a touch of black to your white will get you grey

Well, adding a touch of black to white would seem to be the obvious answer, except that when I tried that once I came out with more of a purple than a gray.....maybe it depends on the brand of black you're using. I was using the wilton gel. I can only assume that maybe the Americolor Super Black is better?

I have trouble using even Americolor black to tint white fondant...turns out a grey-blue for me. icon_sad.gif

The other day I was making black fondant that had a green sheen to it and I was able to make it a more true black by adding a tiny bit of red to it. Not sure what would even out a blueish tinge though...

i have this same problem it looks purple after i add black to white. I would really like to know how to make gray... icon_sad.gif
