We just held a tasting last night for white cake mixes using the Enhanced Cake Formula. We tried Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Duncan Hines, Shurfine (local store brand) and Great Value (Wal-Mart brand). We used the white mix in all brands. The hands down winner was the Betty Crocker. I was surprised because I have been using Pillsbury for 2 years and have been happy with them, but I have just recently started using the Enhancer, so I wanted to try them all again just to make sure. I was concerned about the lumps in the BC mix, however, after baking it was not a factor. We got opinions from 5 people and BC was the clear favorite for 4 of them. Just thought you'd like to know!

To dtmc.......I found this recipe my file. I believe I got it from CC, but I don't have the author's name to give her credit; my apologies for that. Here it is:

I use a white almond sourcream cake...always get rave reviews.

1 box cake mix
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 t. salt
1 t. almond extract
1 t. clear vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 1/3 cup milk
2 T. Oil
1 c. sour cream

Mix dry first add wet. Pour in pan bake at 325 for abt 40 min. you should check at 30.

I usually add alittle amarreto on top of each layer before icing.
