I am new to red velvet cakes, I made my first one this morning using Hershey's recipe. Everything went beautifully, the cakes baked with no problem, but when I turned them out to cool, I noticed the red and chocolate colors swirled. My batter was completely red when I poured it into the pans. Is this what a red velvet from scratch normally looks like? If not, does anyone know what I did wrong?

This is for a cake due tomorrow. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated!

NO, it should be totally red, no swirls or marbled effect.
