What Is Crisco?

A number of recipes call for "Chrisco" but we don't have this brand in Australia!

Can someone please tell me if it is just a shortening? liquid? Oil? Help!!

Crisco's just a plain, solid white vegetable shortening. icon_smile.gif

Crisco is Veg. Shortening. It's a solid not an oil. thumbs_up.gif
