Congrats! I did it in October. I also formed an LLC and got licensed/inspected.

K'ly I'm in Gahanna which is the Columbus suburbs. I have a SIL in Springboro- just outside Dayton- is that close to you?
The next ICES event is at the end of this month. I am not a member, but I did go to a Day Of Sharing Event late last year and loved it. I think I am going to join. I'm kind of afraid to b/c then I will have access to more classes and will become an addict for those to (like this site).

Can I ask, what certificate? I'm a cottage foods business in Ohio. I was never told I needed a certificate.
I registered my business with the state, so now I can advertise without any worries of someone stealing my name 
I'm still operating under the cottage laws for now.
That is my next step, to register my business name. So jealous...and excited for you!!! I would frame it too!
jen1977, do you have a website yet?
My name is parked as a .com by a company, and they want a pretty penny for the name. No one is using it, but it's pretty expensive for me to get it, so I may just add Jen 's in the front of my name to get the website. Not sure yet. I still need to edit all of my photos, and I have a bunch to do. Many of them were taken at parties where there is a lot of stuff in the background. I have someone working on a logo for me now, and business cards and fliers are my next step. I really need to get my web domain name soon though so dh and fil can get started on it. At least then I'll have the addy to put on my website.
Let us know when it's up! Sounds like you are doing things in the right order. I like to do things backward.
