AFrom reading previous threads, I was made aware that cake batter can be freezed. I too will have leftover cake batter because I will only be using half of the batter for cupcakes. I plan to put food coloring in my cupcake batter, so can I freeze cake batter contains food color or will the batter have a different taste and texture with food color?

AOf course you can freeze it. It will be fine.
