Hi everyone!
I am new to this board and I am wanting to make a B-day cake for my daughter. I am new to making cakes and I just don't want this one to flop and not have something for her party!
My question is what kind of icing/frosting should I use to get a nice professional look? I am going to make a Castle shaped cake and I just don't want all the icing to look like it's sliding off the side! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what is a good trick to make a really moist cake?
I know these are "newbie" questions, but again any feedback is greatly appreciated!!
Buttercream is going to be the easiest to work with for a beginner. It's just like the icing from a can but tastes better. If you look around on the boards you can find tricks for getting it smooth. Then some creative piping or decorations can hide any imperfections.
