Im making a record player cake for a 50th wedding anniversary. I was wanting to make the record spin. Anyone know how to do this, or know where to get the motor i would need??

TIA

one source of motors....http://scientificsonline.com/category.asp_Q_c_E_421187

check local radio shack too

or cannibalize a toy car/truck!

trick will be to get a motor with enough torque (umph, ability to move a heavy object) and also go slow enough (use rheostat -- as in dimmer switch).

----

how you place motor depends upon how you plan to construct cake.

is only the platter (the part the record is on) cake (easier) or do you want the whole turntable setup to be cake (harder)?
