Butter icing is a quick and attractive topping for a cake.
Butter Icing
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups icing (confectioners) sugar, sifted
- 2 tsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla essense (extract)
Instructions
- Place the butter in a bowl. Using a wooden spoon or electric mixer, beat until light and fluffy.
- Stir in sugar, milk and vanilla until evenly mixed, then beat well until light and smooth.
- Spread the icing over the cake with a metal spatula.
