Owl Themed Cake
Owl themed cake. 7 layers of alternating fresh strawberry cake and vanilla bean cake, filled with strawberry buttercream and finished in a sky blue very vanilla buttercream. All decorations, 3D tree and owl were handmade from marshmallow fondant. The tree was made using flower wire and covered in fondant. I made the nest and owl out of a very hardened block of fondant which I sculptured into the base shape and then covered and decorated.

3D Dragon Cake
My first ever full on 3D Cake - dark chocolate and white chocolate mud cake filled with a choc mint Italian meringue butter-cream and covered in choc ganache - the entire cake is edible minus the skewers holding the wings and the rod in the neck. Head, upper neck, wings, claws and scales all made from marshmallow fondant. I handpainted the entire cake and cake board and it was the first time I've painted fondant so was a lot of fun!

Draculaura - Monster High
My little sister loves Monster High (although I admit to never hearing about it until I went to make this). Made entirely from MMF - I had very little experience with it when I made this so I learned a lot! Ended up being quite a big figurine! Ran out of time to fully complete her feet as they had to travel hours back home for her birthday.

Ben 10 Cake
This was my first ever fondant cake so the work isn't as good as I would like (although it was made with a lot of love!). All the figurines were made from MMF. This was for my eldest son's birthday and he loved it. I hadn't even made nor touched or tasted fondant until the week I made it so it was all very new to me!

Thomas The Tank Engine Cake
This was only my second cake I've made - Cake was a layered chocolate devil's food cake with oreo cream. I covered it in a chocolate glaze and let it set firm to hold the shape of the mountain. Everything else was handmade from fondant. For the train, I used a block of fondant that had dried really hard over a few weeks and carved it to make the shape of Thomas, and then covered it with fondant as you would a cake and decorated him from there. My youngest son is a mad Thomas fan!
