Triple Chocolate Caramel Pizazz
This is the only picture I have of this one, but wish I had more. We made caramel swizzle sticks, and busted them apart to use as decorations. We even used some of the threads, and had sugar pearls attached to them. It looked really neat. You can kind of see it on this photo.

Our Christmas Queen
My camera then wasn't very good, but, this is the first cake I ever made that wasn't a 9x 13 with canned frosting. I had planned to make it for our Christmas celebration. My beautiful sweet Grandmother ended up passing away on Christmas Eve in 2011, and so I stayed up all night changing my plans into this. Having had 10 children and 47 grandchildren, she was quite the matriarch. We called her our Queen, so I named this cake, "Our Christmas Queen." We served it at her end of life celebration. It was a huge blessing! - Even her favorite flavor, though I had not planned it that way. And it was so fitting, because she loved to have big family celebrations, and special things like this.

My son turned 22 today, and he hates cake. What's a mother to do? How about make a meatloaf cake? It is a sun dried tomato and basil meatloaf double layer, "cake" filled with mashed potatoes. My crumb coat was mashed potatoes as well. Then it was "iced" with a white queso blanco sauce. The flowers are made with Pillsbury Grands biscuits ( flaky layers) and the color is Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce and yellow mustard! - and of course, BACON!!!!!!

Lady Bug Cupcakes
I made these cupcakes to go along with my "Summer Invasion" cake for my family reunion. They were fruit punch and tangerine flavored, with lime flavored poured fondant topping, and fondant lady bugs, and a little royal icing. ( I didnt set them up that way.. would have been more careful about alternating colors. lol) It is also the first time I ever tried poured fondant. Maybe next time they will be better. I think making domed cupcakes would be easier than flat ones?

Summer Invasion!
This is a fruit punch flavored 3 tier cake with a tangy lime buttercream made especially for all the children at my BIG family reunion. Kids love bugs! So- Royal Icing monarchs, white chocolate fondant coneflowers, cattails, lady-bugs, caterpillars, grass and rocks. Colored sugar( for dirt/sand) The only thing not edible is the dowels on the cone flowers and the cattails. I painted the blue on the cake, and the red and orange lady bugs, as well as the coneflowers with different flavored extracts and wilton color. People were taking pieces and snitching little bites as they walked by. That's one thing I like about heavily decorated cakes!

Rosey
My second try at painting images on fondant with Wilton color. ( I found the pictures online and tried my hand at them. ) I used the lemon extract to do my bigger cakes, and found the color clumped, because the alcohol content was so high it evaporated TOO fast. ( I think it was 85%) So, I tried something with less for the two smaller cakes I have done since then. It worked much better! This time I used 45% Watkins Imitation Almond Extract. None of the colors clumped or got chunky, and it also dried. Because I put it on so thick, it was sticky for a few hours, but it did dry nicely.

Mums The Word.
This is my first try at painting with Wilton colors and lemon extract. Bottom tier is orange cream cake, other two are cayenne vanilla. The big white bulbs are lolly pops stuck into straws, for supports. ( Kids can still eat them and they dont get wet from the cake! )Thought this would make a nice autumn cake.

Cairn Cakes
(The little rocks are the actual cake. ) Anyone who loves hiking knows what a cairn is. So, as both my fiance and I love everything outdoors, we decided to go with a rustic theme for our wedding. We will be serving these cairn style mini cakes at the reception along with other various treats, yet to be discovered. :)

Cake Stones
These are for a rustic wedding, to be set in bowls on the tables. The stones are made from cake trimmings and the tops of my square mini cakes made in the Wilton heavy duty bar pan. The big stones are around 1 x 2" to 1x 3 , and actually torted and filled with filling. The very small pebbles are only fondant.
