Sunset Fade And Gumpaste Hibiscus
Made for my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. Airbrushed sunset fade on tiers. Hibiscus made the Nicholas Lodge way. They loved it, and I loved the flowers the best! The cake was supposed to have a raffia border at the base of each tier, but it got forgotten until it was too late. I threw them a huge surprise party and had a billion things going on. Since I was the only cake person at the event, I just let the border go. LOL TFL!

Scrolled Letters And Bow ~ Man's Bd Cake
Birthday cake for a guy whose nickname is "K2." I found a cool scroll font, printed out my message, put it under my clear vinyl mat, and used it as a guide for creating my letters (I added more scrolls than the font provided). The letters were made out of chocolate fondant with Tylose added, which I extruded out of my clay gun with the appropriately-sized rope disc. Easy! Once dry, I airbrushed the letters with a combination of AmeriColors' pearl sheen and gold sheen, and then airbrushed my bow loops the same way. In retrospect, I wish I had airbrushed the entire cake with vodka to bring out the luster of the chocolate fondant, but the guy loved his cake and didn't know the difference. He was really fascinated with the silvery sheen on the bow and message. LOL :D TFL!

Buttercream Lilacs Mothers Day Cake
Orange Dreamsicle cake iced in orange-flavored Swiss Meringue Buttercream with SMBC bead border. Flowers are lilacs with some creative license used in their coloration. :D Roses, lilacs, and leaves were piped a crusting buttercream, as I knew I would be holding the piping bags too long for SMBC, as it softens fairly quickly. My mom loved it and I enjoyed doing a simplistic cake that had no fondant on it! :)

Baby Girl's First Birthday
Hand-piped royal icing tiara painted with cotton candy pink pearl dust. Everything else is fondant. Plaque on middle tier was made by scanning a napkin, printing it as an edible image, and placing it on gumpaste, which was allowed to fully dry. It was adhered to the cake with royal icing. Everything else is fondant, including the cake board, with lots of super pearl! TFL!

Banquet Centerpiece Cakes
Here is just one table full of 8" round, chocolate cakes with chocolate filling, chocolate buttercream, and chocolate fondant. There were more than 80 cakes in this order! Each cake was imprinted with an impression mat, had hand-piped dots at each intersection, and was topped with 3 yellow RI roses and green RI leaves. Each was the centerpiece of a 10-person table at an annual banquet with more than 800 attendees. Did I mention that I did this as a donation? No lie. :) TFL!

Happy Birthday Prince Raymond
This was a little boy's first birthday. The cake topper was made by scanning an invitation, printing it as an edible image, and putting in on gumpaste. It was allowed to dry and then I used royal icing to glue to bamboo skewers to the back, which allowed me to secure it in the top tier. Handmade cake topper of fondant balls on 18 g wires, which were bound together and placed inside of a bubble tea straw with royal icing. The straw protected the cake from exposure to the wire. Never place wire directly into cake! :) TFL!

Hello Kitty!
Sculpted 2D cake. Body started as a 9x13" and the head started as a 10" round. Arms are fondant. Whiskers are cocktail skewers painted with Super Black. All fondant with lots of super pearl! :) The additional cake was a quickie cake I made, because after sculpting, I did not think Hello Kitty did not yield the desired number of servings. Thank goodness for edible image printers for last-minute jobs! TFL!

A Birthday Wish In Chocolate
All chocolate fondant, including the ribbons, the bows, the pearls, and the cake board. Gold accents provided by dry-dusting with gold pearl dust. Pearls on bow and ribbons made with First Impressions 4mm mold. My edible image printer decided to clog at the last minute, so unfortunately I had to hand-pipe the message, which I see as a giant blemish. And yes, his name was Gray, not Gary! :) TFL!

Simple Present Cake
10" square cake, covered in Satin Ice chocolate fondant. Pink ribbons and bow are fondant w/ Tylose added and textured with grosgrain rolling pin, with lots of pearl dust (hard to see in pic). Board is 1/2" foamcore, cut to size, with leftover pink fondant cut into strips and glued using thinned piping gel. Fabric impression made with sink veining tool. Simple! Wish I had had more time to add some pearl edging to the bow loops and ribbon, but it was a quickie cake. TFL!
