Big Green Dinosaur
This cake was extremely fun to make. My DH helped out by constructing some dowel scaffolding to make a skeleton for me to base the body around. It all went smoothly except for the tail sagging.. nothing that a few scewer probes couldn't fix.. poor dino lol! Hope you enjoy :)
Contemporary Wedding Cake
A not so Traditional Wedding Cake! This is my first fondant covered square tiered cake and my first 'stress head' moment in my caking career so far.. round cakes are so much easier to work with.. all these edges, corners and striving for straight lines just cause me headaches. Not to mention the company I get my RTR fondant from neglected to ship my delivery and I had to resort to making my own... eeeek! Big shout out to ApplegumKitchen for her fondant recipe -You saved my rear! Thank You!!I'm happy with the outcome and the bride was wrapt - that's all that counts! Thanks for looking :)
Naming Ceremony Celebration

Anemone Flower Cake
For Nana's 80th birthday. I was so devasted with this cake, because I originally had a large beautiful butterfly placed at the front of the cake. My mother's heater came on throughout the night and seemed to soften the texture of the butterfly and the weight of the wings snapped off. I then had to patch it up with a smaller butterfly and some of the small flowers that were intended for the cupcakes. It still turned out ok, but I know those of you who have had a similar experience will sympathise with the disapointment and torment of a cake that doesn't turn out the way we originally intend it to. I have learnt from this experience though.. and I'm grateful it wasn't a client cake.
So this was a Wilton cake pan... I'm not being rude.. but I don't like doing the whole cake pan thing.. I just find them a little 'blah'.. But I think I managed to cutesy it somewhat.. I don't think the 1 year old will complain ;o)
2 Tier white chocolate and chocolate mud cake. This cake I made to raffle off at a local country show where 'sheep' were the theme - all proceeds were donated to the a local boy for his World's Greatest Shave ' Leukemia Foundation.

This 3D sculpted cake was a first for me.. it turned out WAY bigger than the 12-15 serves it was supposed to feed. Choc mud filled in the thicker sections with choc ganache. It was a 12" square cut and sculpted, I quoted and charged $120.. however, in the future I will charge at least $160.00 to help cover my time more appropriately
