Leopard Print
6" practice cake. Choclate Banana cake w/ Peanut Butter SMBC icing and filling. Candy Clay spots and Candy Clay/MMF mix for flowers, leaves and rope. I LOVE my new extruder, makes rope so much easier. I left the rope rough to give it a more "natural" look in line with the theme. All thoughts welcome, good bad and ugly. :)

Happy Birthday America
WASC dyed red w/ Lemon BC and MMF/Candy Clay stars. White stars dusted w/ siver luster dust. MMF covered cake board. It was so very hot and humid this cake fought me every step of the way, after a rebake and 2 revisions, this is what "stuck". Everyone at the party liked it so that is what matters.

Banana Split
6" Banana cake w/ strawberry, chocolate nut and pineapple SMBC fillings. Crumb coat in vanilla SMBC and covered in MMF. Fruit is MMF, chocolate is choclate, nuts are nuts and cherry is real. Only non edibles are the bowl and parchment it is sitting on. All thoughts and critique welcome.

Why?
6" Chocolate box cake w/ raspberry BC. Modeling chocolate letters, ribbon and flowers. Letters are dusted w/ pearl luster dust. First time working w/ modeling chocolate and this BC recipe. Pay no attention to the icing, I did something wrong and it refused to crust. However, I am pleased with the design. All thoughts and critique welcome.

Terrarium
Out of the 6 cakes I have made for my friend's kids, this is my favoite. I had the idea for a terrarium, didn't think I could do it but found a picture of one on the net, and thus the cake was born. The only thing NOT edible on this cake are the supports and the critters. Took 6 batches of poured sugar to get viable walls, unfortunately it was from the ugliest batch. Pond is melted neon gummy bears and tree is candy bars/sweet tarts (I admit I stole this idea). All thoughts, good, bad and ugly, welcome.

Isle Of Sudor (Sort Of)
This is my first attempt at a sculpture cake for the 2nd birthday of a friend's son. He was really into Thomas at the time and his favorite part of one book was when Percy sees and elephant leaving the tunnel. So I used a doll pan to make the mountain and then cut a hole through it, &iced the inside black to make a tunnel. Miracle of miracles the thing not only stayed standing, it trasported in one piece with no supports. All comments welcome.

When Cupcakes Eat Their Veggies
For the 2nd Birthday of a friend's daughter. Made with the Wilton giant cupcake pan and 2 layers 10" round. We ate the bottom layer at the party and she took the cupcake to her sitter's on her real birthday. It was a huge hit. Butterflies and words were made with royal icing painted with disco dust. I needed the butterflies to dry quickly so put them in the oven on 200 for I don't remember how long, not long 20 min max, and they puffed. Who knew! All thoughts welcome.

Pink And Brown Polka Dots
My friend wanted her daughter's 1st birthday to be pink and brown, then she wanted the cake to match her dress. Since this is only my 3rd "fancy" cake I was a bit nervous and actually ended up being an hour late with the cake. The cake is white, tinted pink with mini chocolate chips so it would be polka dotted. The frosting is buttercream, vanilla tinted pink for the layers and chocolate for the dots. The pattern was copied from the dress then transferred to the cake. The dots and border were covered in disco dust for sparkle. Of course a polka dot smash cake for the birthday girl. Everyone loved the cake despite the fact I was so dissapointed in it I didn't want to deliver it. All thoughts welcome.

Construction Cake
A 3rd birthday construction cake for the son of a friend. I am rather proud of it considering I just wing it with limited ad-hoc skills. Now for the much too detailed description: 2 layer yellow and chocolate cake marbled (to go with the yellow and black theme) with chocolate butter cream icing. The dirt is chocolate and 'nilla waffers crushed and mixed, candy rocks for borders, fondant for concrete (grey and white w/ pearl dust) and pirouette cookies for logs. The retaining wall is made from candy bricks glued together with royal icing and painted with grey powdered food coloring and vodka. The fence is pink bubble gum tape painted orange and pressed back to back with water and toothpicks as stakes. Cake board is covered in duct-tape then cellophane wrapping. That's about it, I hope you enjoy. All thoughts welcome.
