Anything But Slytherin.

My husband Brandon's 26th birthday cake! He's been after me for 2 years now to make him a Harry Potter cake, so here it is. :) Sorting Hat from Harry Potter. And Harry's wand. Hat is an 8" and two 6" rounds of Chocolate Raspberry Pound Cake, stacked and carved, and topped with a shaped piece of marshmallow treats. All covered in Chocolate Cream Cheese icing and then covered in fondant. Served with Raspberry Cream. And he tried it on, of course. ;) He was put in Gryffindor, if anyone was curious. :D

Castle On A Hill

Just a portion of my brother's Groom's cake for their wedding Sunday, 10.10.10. :D This is the castle, and also the only 100% edible part of the cake. It's comprised of 2 "dummy" cakes (made of styrofoam), 16" and 20", sitting on a 24" board. All covered in fondant (the whole thing weighs about 70 lbs total). This was just a step in the process-- finished product has a dragon resting on top of a couple pillars.

Frightened Fairies

Two fairies come back to their home in an overgrown tree stump to find a baby dragon halfway stuck inside! He's knocked the door right off its hinges, and they're not too happy about that or their bumbling intruder! Lemon cake with cream cheese icing, covered in fondant. Tree roots and dragon tail are made out of marshmallow treats. All other decorations are made out of fondant/gumpaste.
