Affliction - Style Birthday Cake
My 26 yr old son loves Affliction (TM) clothing. So, for his birthday, I made an Affliction (TM) style designed cake. The cake is covered with MFF. All decorations are MFF and buttercream.

Basketball Birthday Cake
Made for my recovery center birthday boys in support of Birthday Cakes 4 Free - MN. It is a durable chocolate cake, covered with chocolate ganache, then filled and iced with chocolate buttercream and covered with MFF. The basketball was made using the small Wilton ball pan. The texture was created using a No 3 icing tip. I used an polymer clay extruder to make the strings for the net. Thanks for looking!

Made for a 60th wedding anniversary. 12" chocolate bottom tier; 10" WASC top tier. Covered with MFF. Decorated with handmade gumpaste/MFF flowers, berries and leaves. Wrapped with ribbon.
Made for my daughter's 32nd birthday. After the shoe I was attempting to make broke for a second time, I threw it away and made a gift box out of what was supposed to be the shoebox part of the cake. Somedays just don't go the way they're supposed to! Thanks for looking :>)

Made in a black/white harlequin cake class. I took to a dinner party that night. The cake was chocolate WASC and coconut/white, filled with chocolate ganache and coconut cream. Iced with ganache and then buttercream, covered with MFF and MMF decorations. Thanks for looking!

For my stepson's 34th birthday. He and his dad love walking/hiking in Scotland and the spiral carved cake with a cairn at the summit. The hiking figure has a leather backpack and his water bottle. The cake was the CC Irish Car Bomb chocolate recipe, filled with ganach & buttercream, and iced with ganache before applying the MMF fondant. Thanks to CC members for instructions on spiral carving!

Cats And Dogs
This is a birthday cake for my 7 year old granddaughter, who wanted "cats and dogs." The gumpaste/fondant animals are modelled after her own pets - two cats and an English Bulldog - Salty D. The cake was a three layer marbled cake, filled with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream, and iced with both ganache and buttercream. The decorations are buttercream and handmade from MMF/gumpaste. My design incorporates ideas and designs shared by several other CC members. My sincere thanks to them for their inspiration. Swedish Princess Cake For Fall Wedding
This is a traditional Swedish Princess cake (sponge made with potato flour, pastry cream, whipped cream, raspberry jam, covered with marzipan). Since the wedding had a fall theme, I modified the traditional decor to a fall theme.
Baked this cake for a weekend reunion of old childhood/college friends. They loved it! Thank you to twincakesanabelle for her creative design!
Halloween - Themed Birthday Cake
I did this cake for my Birthday Cakes 4 Free - MN kids - for October birthdays. This pattern is included in the Wilton 2010 yearbook and was a lot of fun to do. The haunted house topper is royal icing. The cakes were 10" chocolate filled with chocolate ganache and buttercream, 8" white filled with buttercream, and a single 6" chocolate layer - all covered with MMF. The cupcake toppers are fondant. Zebra Celebration Cake
This is a 10" square, stacked on an 8" square and then contoured. It is a chocolate/strawberry marble cake, filled with chocolate ganache and straberry buttercream and iced with chocolate ganache. It is covered with homemade MMF. All decorations are gumpaste/fondant (except the Duff wires). Fun At The Jungle Water Hole
This is a 12" square cake, pistachio/coconut marble, with chocolate ganache filling and icing. The top tier is contoured 8" square white cake with buttercream filling and chocolate ganache icing. It is covered with homemade MMF. All animals and decorations are fondant/gumpaste. Lollipop sticks were used as supports in the palm trees and the giraffe legs and neck. Striped Personal Cake
I made this 7" cake for my granddaughter when I visited her and her parents recently. A good friend of mine gave me the cute little chair that I used for a cake stand. This was a bit of an experiment for me - I had to make the cake ahead of time and freeze it... and then drive 400 miles. Other than a few fondant undulations, it all worked pretty well. Off Road Truck
This was a cake made for my 27 yr old son who loves his RC off-road truck. The bottom tier was a 2-layer12" square stack and the top was an 8" square cut diagonally and stacked. The cakes were all Irish Car Bomb cakes with chocolate ganache filling and icing. The cakes were had carved and covered with fondant. The car, tool box, and fuel can were RKT, covered with melted candy melts and then fondant. The "road" was made from crushed chocolate wafers with crushed graham cracker "sand" mixed in. All other decorations were made from fondant. He LOVED the cake!
