Polygraph School Graduation
This is a "mock" of an old time polygraph. Took some liberties poking fun at the "graduating" class of law enforcement officers assigned to this class. All the dents and dings…not my doing. I sent it over with one the attendees & he sent me the picture…of course after some of them stuck their fingers in it…testing to see if it was a cake! I guess they already had their detective skills!

Caramel Apple
On the eve of a wedding, In the wee hours of the night, and wanting nothing but sleep...I still needed to dip and box 30 caramel apples. I vowed NEVER to attempt caramel apples again. Still cleaning up, I didn't know what to do with a stale 1/2 sheet cake. So...I thought, one more caramel apple won't hurt. This is what was left of a chocolate WASC sheet. I did put divits all over hoping to get the texture of an apple. I know I failed...but what the heck. The candy corn is gumpaste...Had a halloween cake that was picked up before I got a picture and these were leftovers!!!

Little Bit Of Tiki...little Bit Of Beach
Client asked for a cake that fit a Tiki theme...then called back and asked to add "purse" or bag of some kind. Never did a purse so I thought the beach bag would work. SPF on bottle reads SPF #30 for her 30th b'day. Flip flps, sunglasses and he requested "beachy flower." I was pleased with this cake and it was coming together easily but plagued with "what will go wrong?" On delivery, that question was answered. I did add graham cracker/brown sugar sand to the board after delivery.

Bud Barrel Cake For Groom-To-Be W/sugar Bottles
Cake is 12" rounds, Chocolate w/Hazelnut Buttercream in top layers and Chocolate w/Coconut Buttercream in bottom layer. Not having air-brush, I marbled the (best I could) the barrel. First time working with Isomalt and although I was in a panic...it worked out in the end! Loved making this cake. Pretzels and bottle opener made of gumpaste.

Cooper's Baby Shower
After a couple years of trying to adopt and a few disappointments, the waiting is finally over. The adoption went through!!! This cake was made for a friend of the family. Bottom layer, 10" Chocolate (Dark) with coconut cream cheese filling, Top 8"...Almond with chocolate ganache! This cake should also appear in Cake Wrecks. I'm still learning to work with fondant (all my cakes except for 1 appear here) but this started to collapse. Cake due at 10AM so I left on counter late at night...A/C went out during the night and 98 degree weather in Georgia and high humidity took its toll. It started to sink before I stacked in the early AM but didn't have a choice. Inspiration...Andrea Sullivan, Andrea Sweet Cakes, a Canadian decorator with an incredible talent! I wish I could be that creative...maybe someday.

Birthday Pool Party Cake
Sister-in-law needed a quick & "simple" cake with only a days notice. Almond sheet cake (trimmed down) torted and filled with malted milk chocolate filling. Minimal gum pieces scattered and only two lanes (she wanted 4 swimmers...the other swimmer fell to her death & carried off by the dog to never be seen!!! So 3 lanes was it. Searched google images and found this pic, so I don't know what decorator to name as inspiration but I'm sure glad I found her picture.

Bugatti Car Cake
Don't be too harsh in judgment...This is my 9th or 10th cake, but my first car. Thank God my daughter could help with the carving...I had a hard time and felt way outta my element Wasn't pleased with the board, but I followed directions (no creative license on this one) Had to hunt for the right recipe...got lucky on the second try. Chocolate Pound cake that was perfect for carving.

Into The Pool!!!
Requested for a subdivision pool party. 1/2 WASC and 1/2 Chocolate WASC, both with buttercream...Raspberry on Chocolate half, Chocolate on WASC half. The pool is the same layout as the subdivision, down to the chairs and typical items you find around the pool. Even included subdivision logo. Sorry the picture is awful.

First Cake
Simple in design...had no real tools except some fondant and a few gel colors. *8"/6" rounds and a cupcake made with RKT and covered with fondant to look like a cupcake...why I didn't just make a cupcake is a question I still ask myself. But "ya gotta learn by your mistakes!" First time I stacked...thanks to Edna and You Tube!

Scoops Birthday Party
I was asked to make a cake with an ice cream cone theme. After my initial conversation I was stumped. This is my 3rd cake and just not ready to build an armature to support an ice cream cone. The mom was talking a flat cake and I was thinking...well, this is what I came up with. I know, my cake is slipping...got a little crazy with the buttercream and it didn't help that it was like 94 degrees outside! No one cared!!! The cake was a hit! The "ice cream scoops" are cupcakes covered in fondant...gum paste/fondant sprinkles rolled by hand, chocolate fondant (sprayed with Pam) for the drippy topping...

Baby Bump
This was my 2nd cake and had a ton of scraps! Trial and Error on sizes. Ended up using a 40+ yr old Pyrex bowl set that I found in a box from my mom's house. (Shape is a little different then more current) But I started with muffin/jumbo cupcake pans. Like I said trial and error. The Wilton pan was just too small for the amount of servings I needed. I was pleased with it and it was the first time I ever made anything out of gumpaste.
