Tony Hawk Skateboard Cupcake Tower
I made 3 dozen cupcakes with the matching 6" square cake on top. I hand cut the Tony Hawk logo out of fondant. The skateboards are made out of fondant. I used disco dust for the writing on the skatebaords. I used an edible black marker for the hawk on the large cupcake on the top cake. I HATED my ramps, but they are what they are. I tried to write in graffitti the child's name on the cake.
This was my second fondant figurine. There were 4 dozen cupcakes with small frogs on them.
The bottom is a 10", the middle is a 8" and the top is a 2-layer 6" that I carved down the base for a little to taper it like a cupcake and then there is a 1 layer 5" on top with a bunch of icing all around it. That darn bow on the side was HARD! I couldn't get the ribbon around the cake straight and the bow kept wanting to fall off! I had a toothpick AND pins holding it in! I'll keep working on that issue.
Unc Tarheel Cake
Fondant embellishments. Everything is edible. Cake iced in buttercream. I didn't really like the piping I did underneath all the details, but I just didn't want everything flat on the cake. So any suggestions for next time to make a cool effect under these would be greatly appreciated!
2 Tier Halloween Cake
Cake is iced in buttercream with mostly buttercream piping for details. The haunted house is fondant, the ghosts are fondant, the pumpkins are Brach's candies, the window background and ghosts are fondant.
3 Tier Baby Shower Cake
The baby figurine was done by another local caker that is retired from making cakes. This is a fondant-covered 3 tier cake.
Autumn Cupcake Tower
All fondant leaves, acorns and the Brach's candy pumpkins brushed with gold luster dust.
Transportation Theme Cupcake Tower
Everything made from edible fondant. I tried to make an airplane with a banner extending off of it and was going to write the name on it, but it was too heavy and broke. I made an extra plane just in case.
Horse Theme 2-Tier Cake
My second attempt at a tiered cake. Can you find the flaws????? I had 3 blowouts with this one. Darn those cake farts! So mant to count, but the Mom was happy and that's all thath matters!
Hannah Montana Cupcake Tower
Hand-cut the HM logo from fondant. Then iced the letters with royal icing and then sprinkles.
Purses & Shoes Cupcake Tower
Everything is made from edible fondant except the shoe on top. It's a Christmas ornament I found at Garden Ridge and used it for the color scheme.
Black And White Cupcake Tower
This was for a 8-year-old birthday. She chose the colors! My first time making a fondant bow with a little of tylose added. Also my first time making calla lillies. They weren't too hard really. Square cake covered in fondant.
Mardi Gras Cupcake Tower
All fondant cutouts. I used cookie cutters for the mask, star and tiara. I used the CK 6mm silicone bead mold to make the beads. Everything was hand-painted using luster dust and glitter.
Mardi Gras 2-Tier Cake
A Sweet 16 party. 2-tier cake with 100 cupcakes. Cake covered in fondant of course. I had air bubbles and even a tear, but it all got hidden thank goodness! Everything is edible except for the "for decoration only" glitter. This is my second 2-tier.
