This is my first attempt at a Halloween cake. The bottom layer is white cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents. The top layer is banana with buttercream icing and fondant accents. The haunted house is chocolate cookie with royal icing accents. Thanks for looking.
This was my first attempt at making a tree. The top came out wonderfully, the base crumbled upon construction. Came out more like a bush than a tree. Made all out of fondant with gum-tex mixed in, next time will use gum paste. Cake was marble with buttercream icing. Little girls favorite colors are pale blue and pale pink. Hopefully she loved it as much as her grandmother did.
This cake was a personal cake for a 1 year old. She had a great time digging in to it!!!
This cake was done for the opening night performance of "Up The Down Staircase" at my daughters high school. The play depicts the trials of the average inner city school that is run down, out of funds, and losing students. The theatre teacher asked for the cake to be done in red, white and blue to depict any American high school. The play was a huge success and so was the cake.
My daughter's birthday not only landed on Friday the 13th, it also coincided with the opening night of the play she was in at her high school. Her favorite color is pink, so her entire cake was pink. We made this one large enough to feed all her friends in the cast and crew and give her a great birthday.
