Books!
My mother in law is a Reading Recovery teacher, & she was attending a RR conf/graduation for teachers who have completed the training . I made this cake for the graduates! It's all BC icing, the bottom book cake is 2 1/2 sheet cakes. One is chocolate and the other is my "signature" orange. The top book cake is a vanilla fun-fetti. The flowers are fresh, and yes, I used etible glitter! It really made it pop! The dog is "Sally", the mommy dog from the children's classic book, "Where's Spot?".

Tropical Wedding Cake!
This is my first wedding cake! (Besides the one I made for Wilton Course ll.) My husband's cousin got married a few weeks ago, and had a tropical-themed reception. It was casual and fun, and that's how she wanted her cake! Each layer of this 4 tiered beauty is a different flavor. The bottom is chocolate, the next one up is yellow, the third one up is orange (delicious!), and the top tier was for them to take home, and it was chocolate and yellow with a vanilla buttercream filling! ALL the icing is BC.

Daisy Birthday Cake!
I made this cake for my friend's birthday! She wanted "Tiffany Blue". I used fondant to cover the cake, and my sister made the daisies (out of fondant). The pearls in the middle of the smaller daisies are etible candy. The "container" on the cake is made out of fondant. I put her birthday present it in - which was a necklace! Who doesn't like cake with a surprise present inside?! The writing and shell border is made out of vanilla BC. The cake is strawberry & chocolate marble. Very yummy!

Packers Promotion Cake!
My sister and I made this cake for her husband! He's from Wisconsin, so of course, he's a huge Packer's fan! He got a big promotion at work, so we thought we'd make him a cake in celebration! The cake is Betty Crocker Cherry Chip (it was nasty actually, I do not recommend). We used fondant to cover and decorate, and BC for the writing and the border!

Bunny & Egg Cakes!
I made these about 8 years ago for my sister, for her birthday. Her birthday always falls around Easter. The bunny cake is actually a tradition in our family. My mom used to always make one. It's decorated with cococonut. The egg cake is something I made up on a whim. The "grass" around both cakes is dyed coconut, and of course, there are peeps and jellybeans.

Designer Cake!
I was going to a friend's house for a girl's night in movie party, so I decided to take some left over flowers that I hade and make a small designer cake! I really love anything vintage, so I tried to go with that theme...bright colors. This wouldn't have been my first choice, but with the leftovers I had, I think it came out pretty cute! The cake was red velvet with buttercream icing, and the flowers are all royal.

My First Wilton Wedding Cake!
This is my first wedding cake, which I did as the finale cake for a Wilton course. The top layer is red velvet, and the bottom layer is white. I used fondant to lay over it and for the roses, and used buttercream for the cornelli lace and for the shells. I also used candy silver balls for decoration!

Father's Day Cake!
My sister & I made this for our father & my father in law for Father's Day 2008! The only thing they both have in common is the love for cars...so we went with that theme! lol Our father is a diabetic, so we made a sugar free yellow cake, and we made homemade sugar free icing. The icing is made with sugar free cool whip, sugar free vanilla pudding, & 1% milk! It was absolutely delicious! However, it was very creamy, & didn't want to keep it's shape, that why you can see that it's a little bit runny.

Duckie Cake!
This was my first commissioned cake! The little girl was turning 7 yrs old and wanted a duckie cake for her bday party! She even drew me a picture of what she wanted! She was very insistant on duckies with party hats! I stayed true to it, but just embellished it "a little"! =) The cake was yellow with buttercream icing. The daisies were made by my wonderful sister, Cathy! (She's the best ever! She helped me a lot with the coloring...and over-all, helped me keep my sanity!) Both the flowers and the ducks were made out of royal icing. I found this really cute pic of a duckie online, printed it out, taped the picture to cardboard, taped wax paper over that...then traced it out with icing, and flooded in with colors. When it dried (which took over 24 hours), I went back in and added the details. I CAREFULLY took the duckies off the wax paper and placed them on the cake. I used a can of blue (icing) spay to spray paint the top for the water.

My 1St Wilton Cake For Course 2!
This was my first Wilton cake for Course 2. I had tried basketweave a few years ago, but I hadn't done it since. I need more practice, but I didn't think it was too bad for my "first time". The icing on the cake is buttercream, but the flowers and the birds are all royal. The cake was delicious! I took a yellow cake mix and added about 1 1/2 cups of chunky peanutbutter. So, the cake was peanutbutter with raspberry jam filling, and the icing was lightly flavored with vanilla. A PB&J cake!

My 1St Wilton Cake!
This is my first Wilton cake from class! It would have been the perfect baby shower cake, but I actually turned it into a bday cake for my mother in law's 60th bday! We ate it at an intimate family dinner. =) The icing is buttercream and the cake was lemon with raspberry jam filling!
