Monkey Birthday
What fun creating this cake! The cake is covered in MMF. The monkeys, bananas, mini present and tree leaves are made out of gum paste. The flower the girl monkey is holding is made out of wrapped floral wire and then I used gel paste to paint it green. Flower is gum paste. Grass is royal icing. TFL

New York Rangers Hockey
A friend of mine asked me to make a Hockey cake for her future father-in-law. I'm not a fan of hockey at all, but this is what I came up with. Cake is covered with Satin Ice fondant to look like a puck. Logo is an edible image. Hockey stick and Rangers jersey is made out of gum paste. I painted the jersey because it wasn't the exact color of blue I needed it to be. TFL

Dog House
This cake was a lot of trial and error. First off, I have only done one other cake in Buttercream, so that in itself was difficult for me. I also couldn't get the roof to stay in place. It took a couple of panels of mistakes to figure out that I need another cake underneath the roof, if it was going to stay up. WOW! I'm glad this one is done! Dogs are made out of gum paste and were the easiest part of this cake. :-) TFL

Cinderella's Coach
This cake was rather challenging. It's the first ball cake that I've covered and of course, I can see all the flaws. Both cakes are covered in marshmallow fondant and decorated with gum paste accents. The figurine is the little girls, who I made the cake for. Thanks to all the CC'ers who have done this cake before, as you all were my inspiration. TFL

Books In A Box
I did this cake for my neighbor's birthday. She loves to read and gets books in the mail all of the time. This cake was a challenge. I created each panel of the box out of fondant/gum paste mixture several days ahead of time. For the flaps, I used melted white chocolate to fuse together. I wasn't sure it was going to hold, but it was pretty strong. The books are made out of rice krispy treats and then covered in fondant. All of the images are made out of edible icing sheets. When I handed this cake to her husband, I told him the WHOLE thing was edible.....He didn't believe it until they cut into it. Lol!! TFL!

The Road To 50!
This was my first cake done in buttercream. Although I'm pleased with the outcome, I do know that this just takes practice. ( Funny, but I just like working with fondant so much more!) This cake was for a 50th Birthday. All the signs are made out of gum paste and edible images. Cake is Too Good Chocolate Cake with a velvet chocolate buttercream. TFL!

Lion, Tiger, Bear...oh My!
These are my first animal figures. This cake is for a one year old's Birthday. I ended up going a little overboard with the decoration, but loved how it turned out. All animals are made out of gum paste and the tree on top and on the sides of the cake are made out of fondant. TFL!

Cupcake And Dots
First off I should say that I cannot take any credit for this cake. This is a replica of CCer: debescakes. I had a friend that not only saw this cake, but wanted it so bad, she found the ribbon somewhere on ebay a couple of months ago. I did ask debescakes for permission to replicate her work. Thanks, debescakes!!!! This cake is covered in MMF, with MMF dots and cupcake has a buttercream top.

White Roses
This is my very first wedding cake. It was fairly simple to construct and I had no major problems! WHEW!! Can't say that for every cake, so I'll take it as it comes. Cake is a Wilton cake that the Bride fell in love with. Chocolate Fudge Cake with Buttercream filling and Extreme Vanilla Cake with Buttercream. Roses are gum paste and I used pearl dragees instead of piping dots. TFL

Walther P-38 Pistol
I did this for a good friend, that loves guns. This particular gun is in his collection and so I thought it would be fun to do for his birthday. I carved the cake out of a sheet cake. I cut all detail pieces out of gum paste and painted them, trying to get the look of gun metal. It wasn't exactly like I wanted, but very close. The cake is a Baily's Irish Cream Sour Cream Cake with a Baily's Bavarian Cream filling and covered in Satin Ice fondant.

Baby Girl Shower
This cake was so fun to do! I cut out each of the clothing items for the clothes line and hand painted them. The ribbon around the cake just happened to be some that I had around and was so excited that it matched! Baby buggy is made out of gum paste, clothes out of fondant. Carrot cake covered in MMF.

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things!
Make-up bag, shoe and shoe box. I had to do this cake! I love shoes and I love the color combination of red, black and white. The gum paste shoe was harder than anticipated. This was my first attempt at mud cake and I really liked the texture. So easy to work with. I filled the cakes with a dark chocolate truffle filling, as per a recipe someone suggested on here. Thanks for all the inspiration!

Pink Lemonade "slice Of Cake" Martini Cake
I found this recipe for a pink lemonade cake and thought it sounded so refreshing for summer. Since we were having company, I decided to make something small.......yeah, right! It turned into a very time consuming project. Each piece on this cake had to be cut out and/or painted in some fashion, including the 'olive' boarder. The martini glass is made out of gum paste and it didn't turn out exactly as I had planned, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
