Kayton's 1St Communion Cake
Cake is buttercream with fondant plaque, bow, and rosary. Chalice is gumpaste.
Kenlee's Candy Land Cake
This cake is straight from the Wilton yearbook. My DIL saw it and wanted it for my granddaughter's b-day. My first time using a dummy cake (bottom tier) Cake is chocolate with buttercream icing. Candy melt cupcake shell. All decorations are fondant except for the gummy lifesavers. The hardest part was finding ice cream cones big enough to fit over the plastic pillars.
Beau's Ball Cap Cake
Two layer WASC with buttercream icing and fondant accents. Cap is cake covered in fondant. St. Louis symbol cut with knife, other lettering cut with Cricut.
Kenlee's 1St Birthday Cake
Bottom tiers are chocolate fudge with chocolate bc filling, iced in bc and decorated with fondant. Cupcake is candy melts filled with white cake and buttercream with bc on top. Made this for my granddaughter's first birthday.
Kayton's Tangled Cake
I made this for my granddaughter's 4th birthday. The bottom is a 3-layer 1/2 sheet chocolate cake covered in chocolate bc. The hills are WASC with bc. The tower is PVC pipe covered in fondant. Rapunzel is a toy. The layout design came from a cake by Bizzers here on CC. My DIL saw it and loved it. I did change the tower design. Thank you, Bizzers, for your inspiration. It took many hours, but seeing the smile on Kayton's face made it worth the effort.
Julia's Tinkerbell Cake
Bottom tier is WASC with butter cream. Top tier is chocolate WASC with Hershey's Choc. Frosting for the bark. Fondant accents. Plastic Tinkerbell topper
Leigh's Coach Purse Cake
A birthday gift for my niece. My first attempt at a purse cake. Her husband sent me pictures of her favorite purse, and that's what I went by. WASC cake with buttercream, covered in fondant with fondant decorations. I was really glad to get to try this. I don't usually cover cakes in fondant, so it was a challenge. Thanks for looking.
Annaliese's Puppy Cake
For a little friend who wanted a puppy and Elmo on her cake. Used Lorraine McKay's "Puppy Love" tutorial for the topper, adapted for a little girl. (If you haven't checked out her tutorials, you really should!) Cake is all WASC with bc and fondant decorations.
Kate's Tinkerbell Cake
All WASC and BC with fondant accents. Tinkerbell is a plastic topper. (I just didn't think I had the chops to sculpt her!) Didn't get the teapot bc as smooth as I would have liked, but at least the icing stayed on! It was 97 with a H.I. of 104 that day, and the party was outside!
Layne's Tractor Cake
WASC with BC and fondant accents. Tractor is RKT covered with fondant. Thanks to KDFCreations for the tractor design.
Ayva's Pink Guitar
My little friend wanted a pink guitar-that's all I knew. I found out later it was a Hannah Montana party; don't know why they didn't tell me that so I could make it a little more "Hannah-ish". Chocolate cake filled with chocolate bc. BC covered with fondant accents.
Two layer 6" WASC with buttercream. Used fondant/Tylose for the baby and flower. (Love the baby mold!) This was for my DIL to welcome new baby Kenlee.
Nathan's Rupp Arena Cake
When my "baby" turned 30, he wanted a cake that looked like Rupp Arena, the home court of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He used to play in the pep band and loves the place. The sheet cake it sits on is chocolate with buttercream icing. The stands are chocolate covered in fondant with sprinkles for the people. The court is a FBCT. I have had some bad luck lately with cakes I planned and planned on. This one was made up as I went along, and I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. My son did ask why I didn't add the second tier of seats!!!
Annaliese's "babies" Cake
For a two-year old who loves her baby dolls. Bottom tier Chocolate with Choc. bc. Top tier WASC with bc. Frosted in bc with foncant decorations and figures. Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions for this cake. I needed help trying to keep it from looking like a baby shower cake. Thanks for looking. Any help or criticism is appreciated.
Syney's Zebra Cake
This little girl wanted teal with zebra stripes and her own likeness on the cake. Those were my only instructions, and this is what I came up with. Bottom tier is chocolate with chocolate bc. filling. Top tier is WASC with vanilla bc. filling. Frosted with bc and fondant accents. This was my first time doing zebra. I watch a video by mystic mischief (I think that's correct) on youtube for some tips. Thanks for looking. I would appreciate any constructive criticism.
Isaiah's Lightning Mcqueen Cake
I didn't have much time because I was already making 2 cakes and 3 dozen cup cakes for my niece, so my cousin got toy cars on his cake. He didn't seem to mind. All WASC with vanilla BC and fondant decorations. I want to thank debescakes and BakedByLisa for their inspiration. Thanks for looking.
Matt's Max And Ruby Cake
All WASC with bc frosting and bc and fondant accents. A lot of the inspiration for this came from a picture on The Frosted Cake and Cookie blog. You should check her out, she makes great cakes.
Evan's Thomas Cake
12" hexagon with a "hill" carved from 8" and 6" layers. Buttercream with fondant decorations. Made for my grandson who is a "Tommy" fan. The smoke "2' is borrowed from travelgirlut (I hope I"m remembering that correctly) Thanks for looking; this one was a lot of fun
Veronica's Curious George Cake
Finally got pictures of the cake I made Curious George for. It had to be assembled on site, and my friend finally sent me the pictures (sorry for the background clutter.) Anyway-10" chocolate tier and 6" WASC tier with buttercream and fondant accents and figures. The hat was a little tricky. It's mainly gumpaste, but I was afraid the brim would break under the weight of the crown of the hat. Thank goodness it didn't. (I had a little straw hat for a back-up, just in case! Thanks to other CCers for inspiration, and thanks for looking.
Mudd's Anniversary Cake
10" and 6" tiers of chocolate fudge frosted in BC. I made this for my DIL's parents. The leaves are all gumpaste. This was the first time I had made anything strictly from gumpaste and colored it with lustre dusts. I also used a pearl spray on the BC. I'm not sure I like that; it certainly highlights any flaws in the BC! Anyway, it was fun to try new things. Thanks for looking.
Welcome Landon Baby Shower Cake
I've been waiting for a chance to try some fondant plaid and some Converse shoes, and this was my chance. My only guidelines for this cake were that the nursery was navy, white, and green, and the baby's name was Landon. All WASC with BC filling and frosting. Accents are fondant, and shoes are fondant/GP mix. Had fun making this one. Thanks for looking.
Twins' Baby Shower Cake
Design from a Wilton fondant book with a few changes. I only needed two babies, and I added blankets, bottles, and a teddy bear. I wish I had made the lettering all white, but you know what the say about hind sight. Thanks for looking.
Robin's Roast Cake
Lots of firsts! First pillow, first fondant-covered cake (pillow), first tiara, and it was the biggest cake I'd ever made. Bottom 12" tier is 3-layer choc/WASC/choc with chocolate BC filling. Top 8" tier is WASC with lemon BC filling. Both are frosted in BC. Stripes in school colors are from fondant. Pillow is WASC with BC filling. Really wish I had had an extruder and an air brush! This is not actually a birthday cake, but I didn't know where to put it. Our principal was appointed the new school superintendent, and instead of a sad send-off, the staff threw her a "roast". Lots of fun. Thanks for looking!
