Heceta Beach Lighthouse Wedding Cake
Base/ground is compressed rice crispies covered in royal, textured then painted. the water is piping gel and royal icing, candy rocks are in the water. The beach is masa tinted with powder colors. The lighthouse is supported with a metal flange and pipe. The cake is covered with italian buttercream, the window trim, building trim and roofs are fondant. There is a battery lit candle inside the top which is a clear paint can. The railing is mylar with royal icing for the railing. The celtic cross was hand drawn and painted.

Marque Teacher Retirement Cake
Seven teachers and staff were retiring. Their them was based on the theatre/last show So they wanted to showcase each retiree. Covered in buttercream, the marques are gumpaste with the edible image of each person, lights are fondant, stars are on wires. Teacher faces are smudged out intentionallly.

Navy Retirement Cake
I got written approval from the Navy to do the seal exactly the way it is. The seal is on gumpaste, A photo from the navy was used on edible image paper and enhanced a lot by hand-painting. The colors transferred too light. The cap is also in gumpaste, it took three tries to get the proportion correct. The flag is all fondant. A half-sheet cake topped with a 10" round under the flag. Anchors are made with lemon flavored white chocolate. Ribbon is fondant with edible image lettering.

Christmas Tree Cake
This was a light eggnog/fruitcake concoction. I carved the edges to give depth for the boughs then added buttercream "snow" with a pallet knife. The green was piped on with a grass tip. White glitter was added to the snow. Thin one-dimensional fondant gift boxes and a snowman are at the base. Red balls are fondant.

Pirate Ship
Ship is carved in basic shape, covered in brown buttercream then planks are cut in 3-4 plank heights with staggered boards and details made on flat surface then puzzle peiced onto sides of cake. Flag is paper image. Pole is a covered skewer. Spaghetti is used for wheel so the wheel spins freely. All parts are fondant, even the pirate. Oops. this picture does not have the hook. I added another close-up version of all the parts, see that photo for the hook.

Artist's Gallery Birthday Cake
Mom wanted to display her 13 year olds art work on his birthday cake. Four images were made using edible images and then attached to fondant mats. A fondant artist pallette with paint colors made out of colored royal icing in colors from the art work and a brush were the cake topper. Wanted to keep it simple and keep the art the main focus.

Nutcracker Christmas Birthday Cake
The base is cake, covered in fondant. The tree is fondant covered wires stuck into a styrofoam cone which was covered with a very thin coating of royal icing. The ornaments of dragees. There are three stars surrounding the center support system. Top cake is buttercream with fondant snowflakes. Top tier has fondant silver balls and isomalt red jewels hanging from its base. The ballerina, the nutcracker king, and the three headed mouse king are all modelled gumpaste. The presents are styrofoam covered in fondant.
