Happy Little Beehive
Made this cake for display in the bakery. I got to bring home the airbrush and play with it (first time using one) and decided to airbrush the hive. I LOVE IT! Also airbrushed the bees yellow. A wonderful tool! My boss baked the cake in a hive pan. I think if someone orders this cake, I'll carve the bees off the cake so the hive has a better shape. You can't really decorate where those bee bumps are after adding icing and fondant anyway.

Giraffe Themed First Birthday Cake
The giraffe is the smash cake. Big old dowel running through the neck, body, and 6" cake to assure that the giraffe doesn't take a nose dive. Buttercream iced with fondant accents. Got my inspiration from a few cakes on this site as well as the invitation and a photo the mother sent me.

Sweet 16 Zebra Print
Made this for a customer's sweet 16. She found a photo of one of Buddy Valasquez' cakes and wanted that basic cake but with an added top tier. If I could be a fly on the wall when they eat this top tier iced in black buttercream!!! Oh Man! Can you just imagine the black tongues and greenish teeth?!? My boss called after delivery to let me know how much they loved it. Said the Birthday girl gave him a hug and said it was even better than Buddy's! HA! Hooray for me! Anyway... It's been a week full of animal prints for me. Stay tuned for a giraffe print!

My First Cake For My New Bakery Job. Fuschia, Orange, And White.
3 tier, hexagon, flowers (not really silk but... provided by customer), fuschia, white, and orange. The sweet 16 girl wanted this cake that she saw on Ann's site, The Pink Cake Box. I was a little intimated to have my first cake be a duplicate of a professionals. All in all, I'm very pleased. So was the customer.

Zebra Print Jacket On A Dress Dummy.
I'm sooo thrilled with how this cake turned out! I had to do this cake for my job at the bakery. The customer ordered a zebra print jacket on a dress dummy/mannequin to feed 6-8 people! WOWZA! That's a lotta money for a little cake! Anyway... he was absolutely thrilled! My boss told me that all he cares about is that people say "Holy Shxx" when they see the cake. Next week I do a guitar cake for the same customer... again to feed 6-8. Gosh I wish I had that kind of money to blow!

Father's Day Grill Cake
This is my first assignment at my new bakery job. It's a dummy cake. I dropped it off this morning and the owner was thrilled. HOORAY! I was so nervous my stomach was upset! First time with Satin Ice and I had some trouble with the fondant turning to alligator and cracking. It has a little royal icing plaster to hide the cracks. Overall I'm happy with it.

Quickie Cake For My Mom's Birthday
Decided this afternoon that I'd make a cake for my mom's 61st. She just wanted pound cake with buttercream icing (no decorations necessary), but it's too painful! I have to make a mess and decorate even if it is a quick and simple design. So... here's to round tips and quick and easy. She happened to stop by while I was leveling and got to eat scraps. I had to kick her out of the house and tell her to wait till tomorrow! ha ha

Graduation From Culinary
Made this cake for my cousin's graduation from culinary tech school. It was lots of fun and my family loved it. It is a yellow cake with bettercream. I pre-made the kitchen and transported it 10.5 hours from Philly to Lima, Ohio. The counter and stove are made of rice krispy treats. All the kitchen details are of fondant and gum paste. Everything is edible.

10Th Anniversary Cake
Calvary Chapel of Central Bucks celebrated it's 10th Anniversary on Sunday. They asked me to make a centerpiece cake that would be cut and served after the 3rd service. It was a great honor and everyone loved it. The cake is a 10" square, 8" square, and 6" square. Mocha toffee filling, iced in buttercream, covered with fondant, with gum paste, and run sugar accents. These were my first calla lily's.

Precious Baby Girl
I got my First Impressions Molds the other day and had to try them out. I uploaded a little boy in a different position a couple of days ago and this morning I finally finished the details on this little girl. I just love these molds. I'm soooo excited to do a baby shower cake. Good thing I know a few pregnant people! ha ha

Forget-Me-Knots.... Take 2
Okay... I made this cake earlier today as a final for my cake class. I am a Critique Subgroup Member. After reading some of the critiques and agreeing with them, I decided to make some changes. So... this cake underwent a metamorphosis. If you want to see the original, it's in my pictures. This is the final version. I like the look of the flowers cascading better. I also pulled out some of my more delicate looking butterflies (unbreakable gel) and used those.

Popcorn Cups
Miniature Popcorn cups filled with banana cupcakes, banana filling, & banana whipped topping. Made these for my Dad's Birthday. He's a big fan of Banana Cream Pie but his all time favorite food is Popcorn! So I mixed the two. The little cups are chocolate made from Candy Melts. Stripes are fondant.

Chantilly Lace
This was one of those last minute cakes. I didn't do anything for my friend's Birthday. We don't exchange gifts and she told me she didn't want anything anyway. BUT.... I just had this incredible urge to bake her a cake. So I did. Vanilla cake with blueberry filling. My first attempt at Chantilly lace.

Monster Truck
This truck completely and totally did me in. I worked on elements from Wednesday to Saturday night. I was up one night till 3am. Of all the cakes I have done, this one was by far the most time consuming. My husband helped by building a frame so it would look like a "real" truck. The tires are rice krispy treats. The dirt mound is cake covered with butterscotch icing and cocoa powder. The whole top of the cake is edible except the skewers that look black bracing on the truck bed (roll cage). This was made for my son's 6th Birthday. And of course... he liked the hot wheels version better. I've been thanked about 20 times for the little toy car. Oh well....
