Fire Engine Cake
For my son's 3rd bday party. Red Velvet cake with buttercream and Michele Foster's Fondant. My icing was too soft so it was really hard to keep the layers together. Plus, I had a really hard time with the fondant. (probably because it was 2am). The grey was from a previous project and I couldn't get smooth but had no time to make more so it looks really sloppy. Oh how I wish I had more time... I do like my little guy and hydrant/hose... :) Base was 14" round cake pan covered in fondant with cobblestone impression mat from Duff

Baby Shower Cake
So much inspiration out there. Thanks to Planet cake and Pink Cake Box for their amazing cakes. Chocolate and regular WASC with buttercream and fondant with gumpaste characters. Sugar diamonds on royal icing border. (couple of shots are taken after the cake was cut since I didn't get the close up earlier.)

Small Anniversary Cake
My parents were married in Sicily 45 years ago. I made a typical italian sponge cake (pan di spagna) and filled with italian pastry cream and iced with smbc. (Wish I had less bubbling in the icing...) It was very tasty! My mom loved the look too and understood how much time it took since she took the Wilton's cake decorating classes with me. It's always nice to feel appreciated! :D 8" bottom with 6" top

Pink Baby Shower
Thanks to xpangxiong for the awesome inspiration. Actually, I tried to duplicate it with a little alteration to the characters on top. My accents are no where near the quality of the original but my sister-in-law loved it and that makes me so grateful that I had cakecentral for ideas. The baby blocks were made of cake and that made it difficult being they were only a couple inches square. I'm not happy with how sloppy they are. (10", 8", 6" cakes) Bottom tier was WASC and top tier was Amazing Chocolate WASC. Buttercream under MMF. Delicious!

Slingback Heels
A client was unhappy with the sugar shoes she got from another designer in the area. I had never done them before but she was willing to let me redo them. Here's what I came up with! I would do some things differently if I ever do again, like make the insole thinner and cleaner, but I'm mostly happy with them. The shoes are less than 6" long. 50/50 gumpaste. The gems and buckle aren't edible.

Road With Barn Animals Cake
My son's 2nd birthday cake. He doesn't have one particular favorite thing but he likes to call out 'car' and animals so I tried to incorporate both together. I think the duck is a little too large. Cow is inspired by aine2. I'm unhappy with the fence... I think it all kind of looks a little sloppy but it's only my 2nd of this type of cake. Buttercream with fondant covering and gumpaste animals, royal icing grass and road lines. Cars are plastic toy favors.
