My first whimsy cake! Totally not my design, but was fun to make! Fun meaning challenging of course. Made for my cousin. Was supposed to have a bow around the center tier, but the bow didn't make it - fell to pieces. :( Oh well. She still loved it - thought it was as crazy as she is haha! TFL!
Fondant and gumpaste accents except the bow of course. Made for my lil' cuz. TFL!
Made this for a friend's hubby who was celebrating his birthday as well as his 20th year in the business. She wanted to be sure (if nothing else) that he was showin' some "crack". And he HAD to have a dollar bill sticking out. Was a lot of trouble this one. The cabinets are a 7-1/5 x 5 cut and stacked. The cake was so fluffy that it was quite difficult to fill and ice...that's why it's not as straight as I'd like it. It took ALL day...and I'm not very happy with the results but had no time to do it again.
My first baby booties! This one came out pretty nice. I made it for a neighbor who just had a baby and she absolutely loved it. Wants me to do two more cakes for her in June! YAY! TFL!
:-) I LIVE to recycle...glass, plastic, newspapers, ... gift bags, cake decorations! Hahaha! I was begged by my son to make cupcakes for his class too, so I recycled the decorations from his birthday cake and put them on this BC iced CCC. Took me a whole 15 minutes to get this one done! Fastest yet! Haha! Looks pretty plain in the pic, especially since I forgot to add the little black accents like on the cake, but it wasn't too bad in person. TFL!
I made this for my son's birthday this weekend. Couldn't find ANY toys or anything of Ben 10 and don't have an EIP so I had to improvise. The images are actually printed on paper then glued to a piece of thick poster board and then attached to an 18 gauge wire with transparent tape. The cake is made of BC with fondant accents. TFL!
Bridal shower cake made for a friend of a friend. BC with fondant/gumpaste callas. Turned out pretty. I'm getting good at the callas now! The only thing I really had a problem with was mixing the purple...Anyone have any tips on how to perfectly mix it so as to not get any blue dots?!? Seemed like I'd mixed it forever and still got them! *SIGH* Oh well. She was fine with it. TFL!!!
Made this for DH's bday. My first carved shirt cake and the first time I'm given something and told, "Make it look like this." It was a little intimidating but fun! The pic in the corner is the actual artwork of what DH's cycling team jersey is going to look like (they haven't received them yet). All fondant with BC borders. It was hit with everyone...even with their competition! (We shared with everyone!) TFL!

Calla Lily cake made for my cousin's bridal/bachelorette party. MY FIRST TIME making this flower!!! Not too bad if I do say so myself! Thanks so much to tonedna for the inspiration! My cousin just had to have her little touch of red, so that's why the little red flowers. They didn't photograph very well but looked much better in person. TFL!!
Made this for my dd today! She just LOVED it! All BC, music notes next to picture are candy melts on pretzel sticks. Put it together in just a couple of hours. Not so bad....my first rushed cake! Hehe. TFL!
(Wilton design) This is my favorite!!! Made it for my mom and step-dad's anniversary. She almost cried she loved it so much. It was my surprise for them. Fondant covered; RI design and border; gum paste flowers. My cousin was there and liked it so much wants me to do one (3 tiers) for her wedding! Yay!

Made for my step-dad. This was fun! All BC except for the numbers up the side; they're RI, and the headstone is a cookie. The cake was colored using the Wilton color mist things.
Made for my nephew's first birthday. The animal faces are candy melts. Most of them survived the 2 hour drive...some better than others. : The trees are RI on pretzel rods.
