Red And White Christmas Cake
This cake evolved as I made it. The bottom tier is eggnog cake with a Parisian almond buttercream filling. The top tier is a chocolate cake with a berry filling. The design for the bottom tier, I took from the amazingling stunning cake by farnazmom3 . The top tier was the part that "evolved" but I'm pleased with the out come. TFL

Yellow Rose Of Texas
This is my first "official" wedding cake. It was for my friend who had a casual western wedding but she wanted a traditional cake. She left the design up to me so this is what I came up with. 6/8/10 with seperators. Bottom tier is mimosa cake and top two are lemon. This is also my first attempt at gumpaste roses and first time seperating tiers(very scary). I learned a lot from this cake and would do a TON of things differently but overall I liked how it came out. Thanks for looking.

Rose And Ivory Birthday Cake
This is my test cake using choco-pan. I am not proud of my fondant work but I do like the overall effect. I need to practice getting the wide ribbon on straight. It was very crooked. But it's a gift cake for my sis so hopefully she won't mind. Chocolate cake with Raspberry Mouse filling.

Wine Bottle Retirement Cake
Thanks to all the great wine bottle cakes on CC. And special thanks to Sugar Shacks' Boxes and Bows DVD which helped with how to do the sides so they were stable and straight. I know this cake has been done before but it was my first wine bottle cake. It was for a Wine party and numerous people wanted to open that bottle of wine:) Everything is edible except the foil. Cake is 2 layers of chocolate 10X15 sheet cakes. White chocolate shavings for packing material. 50/50 gumpaste/fondant for the bottle, edible image for the label.

College Laundry
This cake is based on a Debbie Brown design but I used Barky's cake (and a few others) here on CC for inspiration. I take no credit for the design. This cake was for a guy graduating HS, joining the national guard and starting college all in the next 3 months. The flag is for the NG, the orange T-shirt is his HS colors and the boxers are his college colors and mascot. The cake flavor is Snickers, inspired by Melvira's snickers cupcakes and Bettercreme Fun thread. Chocolate cake with alternating layers of malt flavored Bettercreme and caramel and peanut layers. It's a 6 inch square cake with an extra 1 inch layer to help with the proportions. The cake was a gift and I had complete control over the design ...my only hope is that the graduate acutally "gets" the cake. Otherwise I'm his mom's crazy friend who made him a washing machine cake for his graduation:)

Ornament Cake
This is a chocolate cake covered in black buttercream. Fondant hanger. I used the wilton ball pan which worked fabulously. It was for my mom's Xmas party and her colors were black, red and silver. I will never again do an all black cake. People were walking around with purple teeth all night:)

Picnic Cake
This was a chocolate cake and the bugs were made using the William Sonoma bug pan. The cake was for a shower my sister was hosting so my mom and sister helped me decorate the bugs. They were floored how hard it was to make them look just right. I would not recommend buying this pan. It would have been easier to carve them out of cake or just do fondant ones:)

Physics Ms Graduation Cake
Choc/Cherry cake with almond buttercream with fondant accents. This was before I figured out how to avoid the bulge:( The cake was a for a friend who just completed a masters in physics. Graduation cap and diploma are fondant. I am a geek so I loved doing all the physics symbols.

Mini Flower Cake
Each cake is 1/2 from the ball pan. Piped the flower center and made the petals from tylose and fondant mix. Dried the petals on cardboard tubes a few days before. These took forever to pipe but I do love the effect. The idea came from one of my caker decorating books. I'm sorry I don't have close up pic, they're all too small to post.

Peter Rabbit
This is made using the Nordicware easter bunny pan. The pan is great but my recipe didn't yield quite enough batter so he is a much prettier cake from the side than the front because you can see how where he is split. I really didn't want to cover the rabbit part in frosting so I sucked up the fact that from the front he looks a bit odd:) Was a lemon cake with whipped buttercream frosting. I used white choc ganache to glue the two halves together and also for the tail. All veggies are fondant.

First Slice Cakes
These were sadly unstable and not quite as good as I wanted them to be. Instead of cutting a slice out of a full cake, i cut the cake into pieces and stacked and they were a bit unstable at the tips. I should have chilled the cakes before I did it as well. Strawberry cake, strawberry BC and fondant accents. And Duff roses based on instructions in the gallery.
