Firetruck With House
I made this for my son's 3rd birthday. The firetruck is iced in buttercream, and all of the decorations (ladders, windows, hubcaps, etc.) are made from royal icing. The wheels are rice cakes covered in royal icing. The rope is licorice. And the siren lights are made from red gummy worms. The house is made of graham crackers glued together with royal icing. I sprayed black spray coloring in spots to make the house look burned. It also fell apart while I was gluing it together, but I thought this added to the whole effect so I didn't bother to fix it.

Twin Baby Shower Cake With Shells And Dots
Cake was for my good friend's twin baby shower - for a boy and girl. She wanted to incorporate shells in a very subtle ocean or beach theme, and the party invitations had pastel polka dots, so I tried to incorporate both. Babies and blankets are fondant, shells are chocolate, and cake is iced in buttercream. Very fun to make. This one's for you, Chele! :-)

Basketball Hoop Cake
Cake frosted in buttercream. Jersey is made from royal flow icing. Basketball and "rim" is made from fondant. The cake is four 9" layers - I had to carve it to make it smaller at the base so it made the shape of a basketball net. This was for my two-year-old son who is already a basketball fanatic!
