Antique Pearl
This is the other cake I entered in the Austin Capital Confectioners cake show this past weekend. This is my first major wedding cake. It is done in fondant with gumpast bow and flowers. The second tier up from the bottom is done in brushed embroidery. I was not sure that I was going to do well with this cake. The competition was tough. I was so excited to get first place for this cake as well in the intermediate class. I was shocked.

Spring Burst
This is one of the caks I did for the Catital Confectioners That Takes the Cake Show in Austin, TX this weeked. This cake was entered under novelty tiered. It is done in fondant with fondant cut outs and fondant appliques. I also piped the dash marks with royal icing. The bow is gumpaste. This cake was inspired by some scrapbook paper that I found. I am so excited! I took first place for this cake and also won best in class for the intermediate cakes.

Nativity
This is the cake I did for my daughter's Christmas party at school. The original design was in a Wilton yearbook and had the three wisemen as well. I had planned on including the wisemen, but as you can see, I did not have enough room on the cake. All of the kids loved it, and my daughter was so proud. She told everyone, "my mom made the cake."

Dirt Bikes
This is a cake done for two little boys with a dirt bike themed party. The cake is actually two sided. Each side is identical with the exception of the boys names. The wheels are foam hoops coverd with gumpaste. The spokes are skewers covered with gumpaste. The handle bar grips are done with gumpast around a large dowel. The flags and number plaques are all gumpaste as well. The cake is done in buttercream with fondant accents. The dirt is ground up chocolate graham crackers.

Make-Up Bag
This is the cake I did for my twin nieces 7th birthday. They had a manicure/pedicure party, so I did this make-up bag cake. The make up bag is a cake I saw in a Debbie Brown book and have been looking for an excuse to make it. They had a small party and I went way over bord on the cake, but it was a good reason to practice with fondant. Besides, nothing is to good for my girls.
