Bday_Cake.jpg
This is a cake I made for my mom's birthday. It's a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, surrounded by pirouette cookies and drizzled with chocolate on the top. I needed a fast but elegant looking cake and I'm incredibly happy with how this turned out! I've seen this method used by lots of people, and sorry I can't give credit to all of you, but thanks for the beautiful inspirations!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Drizzle
This cake was soooo rich!! It's a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing (not sure you can tell it's pb in the pic because the color looks white, but in person it was a pb color) and a chocolate ganache drizzle. This is the first time I tried the drizzle and I wasn't thrilled with how it turned out, but live and learn, right? And the people loved it, and thought it was delicious anyway!

Scooby-Doo birthday cake. It was something I did really fast and needed to be simple. Scooby is an FBCT and is probably the most detailed one I've ever done so I think he turned out pretty well... That took the longest, the rest of the cake was just simple and fast... kind of last minute. Just plain yellow cake with vanilla buttercream and the same for filling...

Stars And Stripes
This was a 2-layer cake, for a 4th of July party. Iced in buttercream and accents are fondant. Top layer of cake is white with a raspberry cream filling and bottom is marble cake with a chocolate ganache filling. Sorry for the poor photo quality... the light was terrible where the party was and I ended up setting in on the floor thinking the light was better, but there was still a big glare.

Sabres Hockey Birthday Cake
This was a birthday cake for a little boy who is a BIG hockey fan.... All his little friends wore their Sabres jerseys to the party and they all fought over who would get to eat the buffalo on the cake!! Sooo cute! Anyway, this is just a vanilla buttercream design with an FBCT logo... Had some issues with my writing on this cake, the humidity was messing with my icing terribly!! But all in all, I was proud of how well this turned out and the little boys REALLY loved it, which is what matters most!!

This was a cake I made for my best friend's birthday... She's not a "girly-girl" at all and requested something not too frilly... I came up with this geometric sort of design based on some things I've seen in Wilton yearbooks. It's a basic vanilla buttercream accented with fondant cutouts.
