Lego Indiana Jones
My son fell in love with the Indiana Jones Lego cake that angel941985 made and Angie was kind enough to send me instuctions so here is my version. I made it for my son's best friend who was 6 today. The arms are rice crispies and the rest is cake, I'd never used rice crispies before but they worked really well. It is all covered in fondant.

Happy Birthday Cupcakes
I wish I'd had more time to take a better picture but these are cupcakes for my gran's birthday. They are inspired by the amazing cupcake ladies on Flickr - if you get a chance you should check them out. Zalita is my favourite , her teapot is a million times better than mine.

Mini Winnie
My elder son can't eat dairy so couldn't eat any of the large Winnie the Phoo cake I made this afternoon, this is his own little all fondant version. It is just 2 inches tall, even then it still a lot of sugar for a 5 year old to eat in one go so he has to be rationed. The hard part is deciding what to eat first!

Soccer Ball
This was my first try with the Wilton ball pan. I elevated the cake to cover it in fondant which I would never do normally and the weight of the fondant caused it to tear near the bottom so I added a scarf to hide the tear. Next time I think I will try and cover it with the cake on the work surface but it will be pretty tight round the bottom. Any tips on how to do this would be appreciated.

Twinkle Twinkle
This is my attempt at Debbie Brown's Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I really enjoyed making this. Attaching the walls was pretty tricky, I used a lot of parcel tape and then covered them with wrapping paper to hide the tape. I made the stripes on the wallpaper with my sugar gun, it was far easier to do than I imagined. Thanks for looking

Chocolate & Buttercream
I decided to experiment with some of the books I own but have never used and this was one of the results, a chocolate cupcake from "bake me I'm yours... Cupcake" by J & G Belgrove topped with Rose Levy Beranbaum's classic buttercream. I rushed the piping of the buttercream, I could have made it neater but I had lost track of time and it was 2am by the time I was putting the cakes together - the result was yummy, worth the effort.

Santa's Stuck
This is a rich fruit cake covered in marzipan and fondant. The cake is 2 think layers carved into a house shape with a chimney shaped piece stuck on top with some sticky marzimpan. It was then all covered with fondant that was scored with a veining tool to give the brick effects. The doors and windows are made with fondant as are the roof tiles and the little santa stuck in the top. It was lots and lots of fun to make. I'm giving it to my 5 year old's teacher.

A Cake For My Mother In Law
This is one of my assesment cakes for college, I had to including embossing, crimping, royal icing piping, a floral arrangement and writing. I was scared before I started that all those techniques would be overkill on an 8" cake but I am pleasantly surprised by the end result. Myra is my mother in law, the cake is very much her style so I decided I would give it to her. It is a rich fruit cake covered in marzipan and sugarpaste, the roses are flowerpaste.
