Mmf Roses - First Try
After much reading and research I decided to give roses a try. I think that they look OK from the top, but from the side they remind me of pinecones!! Please tell me what I could have done better or differently so that my work improves! I didn't have any tylose to add to the fondant so I added some merangue powder instead. Next time I am going to use the tylose.

Captain Hook
I made this one to go with tinkerbell. A brother and sister birthday. I really enjoyed making these ones. I put a treasure map on the side of the cake...that's what the squiggly lines are that are creaping onto the top of the cake. I lost the hook in the transfer and had to do some repairing, but I think it turned out ok.

Bad Day Cake
I made this cake for my sister. Her friend graduated from university. It is not my best work. Wouldn't you know it....in the middle of icing the cake my daughter spiked a fever and started vomiting. Well...I iced that cake as fast as I could and then sent my husband out of the house with the thing to deliver it! It is white, mauve and burgundy buttercream with a mauve MMF bow (my first one). Special thanks to boween and pink flamingo for the inspiration.

Buttercup Yellow And White Scrollwork
3 layer almond sourcream cake. ButtercupYellow with White Scrollwork. Made it for a Teacher Appreciation BBQ. A little fancy for a BBQ, but I need the practice. Still haven't found any VIVA, but I tried using computer paper. How AMAZING is that!!!! I was so impressed!!!!!! Thanks for the fabulous tips everyone!

Baby Shower - Girl
This is my very first stacked cake and my first time working with MMF. It was also my first time molding - although that is my 3rd try on the baby! LOL. I did this cake for my sister in laws baby shower. I'm not happy with the lettering on the baby's name but overall it turned out alright. I used an 9" and 5" rounds and buttercream. I wish we had VIVA paper towels in Canada. Couldn't find them anywhere.

Baby Shower Bunny
I made this one from a drawing I did when thinking of a cake for my cousins baby shower. We decorated the room with dressed up bunny stuffed animals. I enlarged my "doodle" on a photocopier and transfered it to a piece of wax paper. Then I used a toothpick to poke through the wax paper and make my outline on the cake. I cut the sheet cake, to match the shape of the bunny

My Love Affair With Cakes Begins
I made this cake for my oldest daughters first birthday. I wanted it to be perfect and it took me so long to do. I made what felt like millions of little flowers on wax paper and cried each time I tried to transfer them and they broke. I have always liked decorating cakes, but my love affair really began with this one.
