Butterfly 3D
This is another of my favorites. I made this for our friends daughter 5th. She was having a "criters" birthday at the zoo in Dec. & wanted a butterfly, I gave them a few idea & showed a few wed site & they just said a big butterfly with pink and purple. I used a 9X13 base, a 10 inch round cake cut in 1/2 and 5 cupcakes for the body. All decorations are B/C. I really liked the final combo of colors. I also used green colored coconut for the grass. (Dec. 2005 cake)

Tintin
This is a small cake I made for Fathers day 2005, while visiting my family. I come from Montreal & grew up w/ Tintin, I introduced our oldest to the movies & books & he asked for the cake over & over. Finally got it done. The weather was really hot I mean in the 100's and I did not have many tools, just a bag with plastic tips I found in the grocery store (my SIL does not bake). Other than full butter B/C being too soft & melting in my hands. Next time I'll keep putting it in the fridge. It was good.

Marvin Martian
My very first star piped, character shaped cake, from Wilton with their Directions. But it turned out pretty good. This was an Aug. 2002 birthday for my husband. 5 years later I can see and I now realize the icing was too runny I was using water based color for red & green, now I gel. Icing - 3 important things about ICING - 1. Icing Consistency, 2. Bag position 3. Pressure control Once you've got these you are set! Well you just have to practice your techniques that is!I love cake decorating

Confirmation Cross - Pink & Purple
I made this for one of my neighbors. For her son & a very close friend. She wanted the cross, we found the picture on the web somewhere. I made the cake out of cupcakes and placed a ribbon around the cupcakes. With pink and purple roses, rosebuds & accents. They loved it. It was easy to hand out & they were pleased. (May 2006) Since then, when I make these I use wafer/potatoe or rice paper instead of ribbon, it looks fine, I can cut it to the right height and they can even eat it.

Iron Giant Cupcake Cake
My oldest wanted an Iron Giant Cake for his 4th b-day. Since I wanted to make cupcakes to make it easier for the kids to eat. I came up with this design and it worked out great. Lots of B/C required, but oh so fun. The kids loved it, especially when asking for either chocolate or vanilla & they got to pick out the piece they wanted themselves. Cars Lightning Mcqueen Gingerbread Cookie 3D
I used my sons McQueen Large Toy as a template & figured out close enough cookie shapes. I cut these with my boys out of gingerbread and once bakes I glued them w/ Royal Icing using plastic bowls for support. Something shifted as it dried so we have the Kachow look to Mcqueen. I used home made candy for the windows- when I made the eyes I left a round of cookie for the right shape. My boys decorated the rest of McQueen I just did the #'s. It looked really cool and everyone loved it.

Cars Lightning Mcqueen Dinoco How To
March '07 - 4 pictures of how I created the Dinoco McQueenm using a cut up 9X13 cake, b/c & wafer paper. I also added a picture of my 1st attempt at a red McQueen in 2006. Once you figure out the dimensions and use your icing to glue it all together it works out great. The final Dinoco McQueen is shown on it's own picture in another of my pictures. Key words Dinoco Blue McQueen. Good Luck.
