Smiley Birthday
The design for this cake is directly from a Wilton yearbook. Yes, I have no imagination but some of their cakes are just so cute!! This is a 12-inch round covered in buttercream. The smiley is a half-ball pan cake covered in fondant. The decorations are all fondant. To make the confetti, you cut strips of fondant and wrap them around a paint brush handle or wooden dowel rod and let them dry a little. They are so easy to make and festive looking.

Swimming Pool Cake
I made this for my niece's pool party birthday. She is the one on the yellow seal. All the little characters had such personality. Cake covered in buttercream, fondant figures, piping gel pool, gumpaste diving board and royal icing palm trees. I think that covers all cake decorating mediums : )

Caroling Snowmen
I made this for our church choir Christmas party. Thanks to Aine for the snowman tutorial and to Shelly150 and veragatafera...I used ideas from both their cakes on mine. This is covered in buttercream. Trees are buttercream covered sugar cones. Snowmen are fondant with gumpaste books. Bottom border is fondant balls.

Pumpkin Kitty
Thanks to mommy2owen for the "kitten in a pumpkin" idea and mommypaul3 for directions on how to make the lines in the pumpkin look real. I made this one just for fun. Two bundt pans, kitty and lid are mini-ball pan cakes and marshmallows. His whiskers are spaghetti. Covered in buttercream. I smoothed it with a paper towel, then I used a round gumpaste ball tool to make the lines, then used the flatter curved tool to make the lines deeper.

The Spider And The Fly
A 10-inch round covered in buttercream. Fly is royal. Spider is two mini-ball pans and his head is a marshmallow. His legs are lollypop sticks covered in buttercream. I bent the lollypop stick without breaking it, covered it with icing and stuck one end in the cake, the other in the spider. I added the shoes to cover the hole. This was for a little boys birthday but with a change of background color could be a good Halloween cake also.

Another Pretty Caterpillar
This is the first caterpillar cake I made with 6 humps and a cookie name. The picture isn't so great because I scanned it in but you can see how cute this cake comes out for a little girl's birthday. It's all buttercream with various candy decorations. Cookies are decorated with royal I think

Grandma Shower
This cake was for a "Nana" Shower for a lady who just became a grandma to 3 adopted children. They wanted to help the family with clothes & toys since their family had grown so quickly. Rocking chair is a Wilton pattern, made with gumpaste & lollipop sticks. The rest of the idea was all my own, for a change : ). My daughter made all of the toys. Edge of blanket dusted with pearl dust. All is on a fondant covered board. The cake is covered in buttercream(my first Viva smoothed cakethanks CCers).
