Olivia's Flamingo
Cupcake cake for Birthday at the zoo. The animals are a cute panda, lion, tiger, turtle and giraffe. The main cupcake is shaped like a flamingo holding a birthday bouquet. All decorated in white chocolate fondant filled with chocolate. Added cupcakes with flamingo plaques with no filling for the adults. The display is styrofoam cakes covered with wrapping paper and fondant flowers to clean up the edges. The whole family helped with this cake. Our new favorite cause the flamingo turned out great!

White On White Birthday Gift Box
This cake is all white inside and out. It was ordered by a deployed soldier as a surprise for his wife. Although I ama not keen on all white for birthdays, this is what he ordered. I was very close to canceling this order because I was just getting over the flu. My 14yr stepped up and really helped out. She designed and decorated the cake. This is her first time making a fondant bow and I loved how it turned out. Wish I had a better a pic.

Cavalry Cake
White and chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. Cavalry hat decorated in fondant with fondant details. This cake was made for a welcom home function of a cavalry unit. The spurs were gumpaste "engraved" with the call numbers of two fallen soldiers. The soldiers at the function took pictures and did not want to cut the hat. That reaction of course made me feel great!

Realbttle.jpg
This was for the retirement of a Department Head at DH's Work. Baked and made icing ahead of time, then decorated all in one day. Made the bottle in the same day. My first time making a sugar bottle. The label and tissue paper were not edible as it was already 9:30 PM at night and I was to tired to hand paint. All in all very happy with the cake. The real bottle is there for comparison.

This was not the cake I had in mind. But by the time I was finished baking, making icing, filling, and then icing the cake I was too tired to do the original design. SO DH and DD took over to finish this cake. They made the fondant details and the writing in the sand. The umbrella was store bought. I love my family!

Un-Happy Birthday Cake
This cake was to celebrate the birthday of 4 co-workers. This client did not like the colorful designs I came up with. The client wanted all white cake with four balloons with ages and initials of BD people. It took a lot to change her mind on adding color and this wall all she agreed to. I added a fondant bead border for a touch of whimsy although you can't see it. Birthday cakes are for celebrating and this design just doesn't do it for me. But it's what the client wanted.

Army Unit Logo
This cake was for a unit about to deploy for Iraq. I was very happy with this one! 1/3 sheet iced in buttercream with white chocolate fondant borders and accents. The skull and guns were molded of rice kripie treats covered in fondant The lady who ordered wanted a plain sheet with edible image . . . just wouldn't have had the same impact.

Nana's Support Birthday Cake
Overnighted this cake to MIL for 60th B-Day. Inspired by CC artists. Family effort: DD painted bra, DS rolled fondant and DH arranged tissue, placed stripes and doweled (To hold in place for shipping). Was to have a lid but changed mind because I didn't think it would survive the trip. Chocolate Kahlua with dulce de leche filling, iced in butercream, covered in white chocolate fondant, gumpaste accents.

Quinceanera
Dominican Cake with dulce de leche filling and meringue icing. The client originaly wanted stairs but had a last minute change. The central cake should have been two stcked cakes and one on pillars but the table had wheels that did not lock and the floor was uneven. This setup seemed safer. I let the client know of my concerns. The client also forgot the topper for one cake which is why it looks naked.

Blue Gift Box
The cake buckled because it did not have enough support! Lesson learned. The pillow was originally iced in buttercream but my daughter dropped it and then my sister dropped a fridge shelf on it! So I had to go with Fondant and it made all the difference. Everything else is buttercream with fondant accents. The tiara was provided by the customer.
